Miyota 9039
The Miyota 9039 is part of Miyota's 9000-series Premium Automatic line, introduced around 2018. It was developed specifically as a no-date companion to the 9015, intended for brands and independent watchmakers who wanted the 9000-series platform's performance and reliability without a date complication cluttering the dial.
The 9039 is best understood as a no-date derivative of the 9015: the two movements share the same 26 mm diameter, identical dial-foot positions, 24 jewels, and 28,800 bph beat rate, making them drop-in interchangeable in most watch cases. Removing the date mechanism also eliminates the fourth crown position that the date-setting 9015 requires, resulting in a cleaner two-position crown and no blank date wheel visible under translucent dials.
At 28,800 bph with a stated accuracy of -10 to +30 seconds per day and a roughly 42-hour power reserve, the 9039 sits in the same performance bracket as the ETA 2824-2 and Sellita SW200-1, but at a considerably lower price. Its Japanese origin, proven 9000-series architecture, and micro-brand-friendly supply chain have made it a common choice wherever a three-hand-only automatic movement is needed.
