Sellita SW210-1
The SW210-1 is the hand-wound flagship of Sellita's SW200 family, manufactured in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. The broader SW210 line traces to around 2004; the SW210-1 designation was formalised as Sellita modernised its caliber numbering through the 2010s. It occupies the same 11½-ligne (25.60 mm) footprint as the automatic SW200-1, making it a natural manual-wind companion in the family.
Sellita designed the SW210-1 as a drop-in-compatible alternative to the ETA 2801-2 — the long-dominant Swiss hand-wound workhorse — rather than licensing the ETA design. The caliber reportedly adds one to two jewels beyond the ETA's 17, and shares the same hacking and hand-winding layout. A family of close relatives covers small-seconds positions (SW216-1 at 6 o'clock, SW219-1 at 9 o'clock) and date complications (SW210-1 a).
Demand surged after ETA announced in 2011 that it would progressively restrict movement supply to non-Swatch Group brands. For makers needing a credible Swiss manual-wind option, the SW210-1 became one of very few viable alternatives. Its four finishing grades — Standard, Elaboré, Top, and Chronometer — make it scalable from entry-level production to COSC-certified use, and today it is found across a wide spectrum of watch brands.

FAQ
Is the Sellita SW210-1 automatic or manual?
The Sellita SW210-1 is a hand-wound mechanical movement: there is no self-winding rotor, so you turn the crown — usually once a day — to keep it running. It uses no battery.
What is the power reserve of the Sellita SW210-1?
About 45 hours on a full wind — into a second day, so it keeps running overnight off the wrist. Power reserve is how long the Sellita SW210-1 keeps running once you stop wearing or winding it.
Does the Sellita SW210-1 hack (stop the seconds when you set it)?
Yes. Pulling the crown stops the seconds hand, so the Sellita SW210-1 can be set precisely to a reference time before you push the crown back in. Hacking is what lets you sync several watches — or a watch and a phone — to the exact second.
Does the Sellita SW210-1 have a date function?
No — the Sellita SW210-1 has no date complication, so every watch built on it runs a clean, date-free dial. That suits symmetrical and vintage-style designs, and means one less thing to reset whenever the movement is allowed to stop.
How accurate is the Sellita SW210-1?
The Sellita SW210-1 is rated at ±12 s/day (Standard); ±7 (Elaboré); ±4 (Top); COSC chronometer: -4/+6 s/day. That is a normal working range for an uncertified mechanical movement; a COSC-certified chronometer is held to a tighter −4/+6 s/day, and a watchmaker can usually regulate one closer. Real-world accuracy still depends on how each watch is regulated, worn, and serviced.
