Sellita SW330-2
The SW330-1 was introduced in 2015 as part of Sellita's SW300 family — the SW300 series being itself derived from the ETA 2892-A2 platform. The SW330-1 was a functional clone of ETA's 2893-2, the GMT-equipped variant of the 2892-A2. In July 2020 Sellita announced the SW330-2, redesigning six components in the GMT wheel-train for more reliable quick-setting; a subsequent barrel upgrade (RDM+) pushed power reserve from 42 to 56 hours.
The SW330-2 uses a "true" or Office/Caller GMT architecture, in which the central 24-hour hand is independently adjustable from the local-hour hand. This contrasts with simpler traveler-GMT designs and mirrors the ETA 2893-2's own approach. With 25 jewels — compared to 21 in the ETA 2893-1 — Sellita slightly improved the jewel count over its inspiration.
The movement gained wide adoption among independent Swiss watch brands after ETA (Swatch Group) progressively restricted outside movement sales from the mid-2000s onward, accelerating through the 2010s. It is offered in three finishing grades: Spécial (Elaboré), Prémium (Top), and Chronomètre (COSC), and has appeared in models from Christopher Ward, UNIMATIC, and others seeking an affordable, Swiss-made automatic GMT with genuine independent hand-setting.
